The Indian Park School House Association
In 1972, IPSHA purchased the School House and two acres from the Douglas County School District. The sale was made on condition that the property would always be used for public purposes.
Today IPSHA unites the community in a multitude of positive social efforts, while actively preserving the Indian Park School House, its grounds and pioneer cemetery, and the history of western Douglas County’s mountain communities. Activities include:
- An annual, all-volunteer Melodrama and Olio talent show.
- Adopt-a-Highway cleanups along Hwy. 67.
- Community meals and picnics.
- Community events and classes.
- School house maintenance and renovations.
- Archival preservation and history sharing.
- IPSHA business meetings.
